PINTERESTingly enough I have to admit to a new addiction\u2026Pinterest.<\/p>\n
I only came across Pinterest at the end of last year and I am wondering how on earth I ever managed without it? Pinterest has joined my children, cats, DSLR, chocolate and cake in my reserved for a select few, box of LOVES.<\/p>\n
For those of you that haven\u2019t come across Pinterest yet I really would recommend giving it a go. What\u2019s it about? Well, basically it\u2019s an online collection of personal pin-boards where you can pin all the things you love from around the internet. You can create pin-boards\u00a0for any subject that takes your fancy and collect your inspirations there.<\/p>\n
I have lots of pin-boards, each one dedicated to a separate topic, such as recycled crafts, sensory activities, painting, party ideas. I find it so fantastic to be able to collect all the wonderful ideas I spot around the internet in one place. Gone are the days of trying to add links to my bookmarks or scribbling down notes of web addresses to revisit later. Inevitably I would look at my \u00a0saved lists and not have a clue what the things were I\u2019d saved or why I\u2019d saved them without having to click-through them all. Now, using Pinterest (did I tell you how much I love it?) I can collect everything I want to using gorgeous pictures. I can organize them on my pin-boards in a way that suits me and I have an immediate visual reminder from the pinned picture, of \u00a0what and where the link leads to.<\/p>\n
Visually I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll find Pinterest really beautiful and I often find that I\u2019ve lost myself in it for longer than I\u2019d planned because it is so inspirational and there are so many stunning images on there. It\u2019s social too so you can follow other like-minded pinners and see what they\u2019re pinning and pick your favourites for your own boards, and you can \u2018like\u2019 and comment on other people\u2019s pins as well. It really is a stroke of simple genius.<\/p>\n
I use Pinterest a lot for my own crafting inspiration and also for ideas for the work I do with preschoolers and for activities to do with my own children too. I really wish it had been available when I was teaching, it would have saved me hours and hours of searching for an idea I knew I\u2019d seen somewhere once.<\/p>\n
One of my favourite pin boards is my Children\u2019s Crafts board it\u2019s where I collect together all the wonderful craft activities I spot on my travels around the internet and also from Pinterest itself.
