{"id":3871,"date":"2013-05-07T11:47:38","date_gmt":"2013-05-07T10:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/?p=3871"},"modified":"2015-05-16T21:31:56","modified_gmt":"2015-05-16T20:31:56","slug":"hoops-and-crosses-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/hoops-and-crosses-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Hoops and Crosses (Review)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My children were very excited when they heard that we had the opportunity to review Walkers\u2019 new Hoops and Crosses Corn Snack and I was keen to try them as they boasted wholegrain, with no artificial colours or preservatives and are baked rather than fried like traditional crisps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3840\" src=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-1.jpg\" alt=\"hoops-and-crosses-review\" width=\"628\" height=\"425\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They arrived with a gorgeous cheeky monkey cuddly toy which was a big hit and a fun book that prompted lots of discussion with my children about the importance of wholegrains as part of a healthy balanced diet. The book said that some children in the UK don\u2019t get enough wholegrains and a shocking 27% don\u2019t get any at all!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They come in three flavours, prawn cocktail, roast beef and salt and vinegar, which are all suitable for vegetarians. We recieved the Roast Beef Flavoured Corn Snack and I wasn\u2019t sure if the boys would like it as they are generally dedicated salt and vinegar fans but they went down a treat and got a big theumbs up from them both.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3843\" src=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-4.jpg\" alt=\"hoops-and-crosses-review\" width=\"610\" height=\"495\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-4.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The shape of them is great fun and they made glasses with them and quickly drew a noughts and crosses board for a short game before scoffing the lot. We did think it a bit of a shame that there wasn\u2019t a printed noughts and crosses layout on the packet that they could use though!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3842\" src=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-3.jpg\" alt=\"hoops-and-crosses-review\" width=\"682\" height=\"494\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/kidscraftroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/hoops-and-crosses-3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At home I think we eat pretty well on the whole. I do bake a lot of cakes it has to be said but other than that we are pretty healthy I hope. We generally avoid processed foods and eat lots of fruit and veg etc. When it comes to lunchboxes though it\u2019s not always as easy. My children don\u2019t get crisps everyday by any means but I do put them in every now and again to ring the changes and for sheer ease and convenience. I think these new Hoops and Crosses snacks would make a good alternative, they are lower in calories, just 85kcal a pack and would ease a bit of my guilt with their wholegrain claims.
