I love that not only does this chick craft look gorgeous but kids can actually play with them too. Chick puppets are a super way to encourage dramatic play and story telling.<\/p>\n

With their cute feather wings, cheeky beady eyes and adorable wibbly wobbly concertina legs these little handprint chick puppets are full of character and are sure to delight your little ones!<\/p>\n

Tweet, tweet!<\/p>\n We made traditional yellow handprint chicks but really they could be any colour paint<\/a> your kids like. Kids can have lots of fun painting their own hand and pushing it on to card to make a print for the chick\u2019s body.<\/p>\n Why not make two chicks using a print from each hand? Getting kids to paint<\/a> their dominant hand with their non-dominant hand is a great way to stretch and develop their motor skills and hand eye co-ordination.<\/p>\n To make your chick puppet\u2019s legs cut out two long strips and two feet from orange card. Also cut a small orange triangle for the chick\u2019s beak.<\/p>\n Concertina the orange card strips to make wibbly wobbly chick legs. This is another great bit of fine motor skill building for little hands.<\/p>\n Glue a chick\u2019s foot onto the end of each leg.<\/p>\n Use glue to attach the card legs onto the back and bottom of your handprint chick puppets.<\/p>\n Bring your chick puppets to life by glueing on their orange beaks and beady googly eyes.
