<\/p>\nYour kids will have an awesome time celebrating St Patrick\u2019s Day with this colourful edible sensory play idea. Imagine how excited they\u2019ll be to get hands on with giant wibbly-wobbly shamrock and tasty chocolate treasure from the end of the rainbow!<\/p>\n
Edible sensory play for St Patrick\u2019s Day will stimulate children\u2019s senses of touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing and we\u2019ve got lots of great tips on how to support their\u00a0sensory learning too.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s super easy to prepare and set up this fun edible sensory play activity but you\u2019ll need to make the green jello <\/a>the day before your kids are going to play with it, so it has time to set.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Make your lime jello<\/a> following the instructions on your pack and pour it out into your heart moulds. You\u2019ll need three heart moulds for each shamrock. We were so pleased to find these lovely coloured silicon heart moulds<\/a>. Their vibrant rainbow colours are just right for St Patrick\u2019s Day and I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll use them for lots of other play ideas too.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n For each shamrock you\u2019ll need to turn out and arrange three jello<\/a> hearts onto a large tray. You can use some chocolate coins<\/a> for the stalk and place the rest around the shamrock.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n If your child likes to dig for their treasure you could pop a coin<\/a> into each shamrock leaf. Kids will have so much fun pretending they\u2019ve found the Leprechaun\u2019s pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Child led play is fantastic. How will your child explore this edible sensory play activity? As our kids handle the jello and chocolate we can ask questions to stimulate their sense of touch:<\/p>\n Kids will have likes and dislikes around food but most will like the combination of jello and chocolate!
