Mother’s Day Superhero Puppet Supplies:
- Printable Mother’s Day Superhero Puppets Template
- White Printer Card
- Single Hole Punch
- Paper Fasteners
- Embroidery Floss
- Large Needle
- Scissors
- Glue
- Sticky Tape
How To Make Superhero Mother’s Day Puppets
1 – Choose your Mother’s Day Superhero Puppet pattern and print it onto white cardstock. There are 9 multicultural choices and a black and white Supermum to colour too.
2 – Cut out all the superhero pieces. You should have a body, head, cape, 2 arms and legs and a choice of 2 pull string tab messages.
3 – Use a single hole puncher to make holes at the joints of the arms and legs and 4 corresponding holes on the puppet’s body too.
4 – Attach Supermom’s arms and legs with split pins/paper fasteners.
5 – Thread your needle with embroidery floss. With the arms in the down position sew a thread between the top of the two arms. Knot the thread into place.
6 – Repeat step five with the top of the legs.
7 – Tie a length of embroidery floss onto the middle of the thread that is spanning between the arms.
8 – Next, (keeping the arms and legs in the down position) take the length of embroidery thread down to the piece spanning between the two legs and tie it to the centre of the span. Now when you pull the thread it should make the arms and legs go up and out to the side.
9 – Glue the cape onto the back of the body at the top. Do not glue it any further down otherwise your Mother’s Day Superhero Puppet won’t be able to move her arms and legs!
10 – Glue the chosen head onto your Mother’s Day Superhero Puppet Craft. If there isn’t a head to meet your needs why not draw and cut out one of your own?
11 – Chose a message heart to tape onto the bottom of your pull string. There is a UK and US version of Mum/Mom.
