Do you want to make a really cool PAPER CONE GIRAFFE CRAFT? Giraffes are certainly one of the most popular animals at the zoo, and have always been firm favourites with my kids. We just love their long necks and super long and agile tongues! Did you know a giraffe’s tongue isn’t pink like ours, but a blacky blue colour!? How wild is that! This paper giraffe craft is lots of fun to make and what’s more you can make it as tall or as short as you like! They’re 3D and have super fun spring necks and adorable smiles that everyone will love.
These 3D giraffes are easy to make and all you need are a few simple craft supplies that you’ve probably got in your cupboards already. Scroll down to see how to make your own paper cone giraffe craft. Let’s get started!
Spring Neck Cone Giraffe Craft
Supplies:
- Yellow and Orange Construction Paper
- Pipe Cleaners
- Coffee Stirrer
- Sticky Tape
- scissors
- Glue
- Pen
How to Make a 3D Cone Giraffe
1 – To make the giraffe’s body, roll a long thin cone out of yellow construction paper.
2 – Cut a yellow giraffe head from construction paper and then make a nose from a semi-circle of orange and glue it on.
3 – Glue on two little orange inner ears and draw the giraffe’s eyes, nose and mouth with a pen.
4 – Cut two little pieces of brown pipe cleaners to make the giraffe’s horns. Interesting fact…they’re actually called ossicones!
5 – To make the giraffe’s long neck, coil an orange pipe cleaner around a pen or your finger to make a spring. Then glue one end of it to the top of the cone body.
6 – Turn the upper loop of the spring upwards. Glue a coffee stirrer to the back of the head and put the end of it into the top of the body cone. 
7 – Stretch the spring up to the head and glue the turned upper loop onto the back of the head.
8 – Cut the rounded ends off some coffee stirrers.
9 – Glue the coffee stirrer pieces onto the front of the giraffe to make its legs.
10 – finish your giraffe craft by either drawing or glueing on some orange shapes to make its patterned fur.
