Playbrush is an easy to use but extremely clever device that attaches to your child’s manual toothbrush turning it into a game controller! The Playbrush interacts via bluetooth to free game apps you download onto your tablet or smartphone that encourage kids accurate and regular toothbrushing! Who wouldn’t enjoy playing a game while brushing their teeth?
Each Playbrush is rechargeable and can even be used by more than one child because it easily attaches and detaches from their own manual toothbrush and each game app allows more than one playing character to be saved.
Playbrush Game Apps
There are currently three games to choose from with more planned and the next one due out in the Autumn. The games are set in the magical land of Utoothia, where kids get to fight on the side of the Tooth Fairy against Plaksta, a giant one-eyed ogre and his evil army of goblin Crobies.
Motion detectors in the bluetooth Playbrush cleverly measure where the children are brushing and correspond this to firing lasers, flying aeroplanes or destroying pesky Crobies in matching areas of the game playing screen.
To win the games kids must brush their teeth for two minutes all around their mouths. The toothbrushing games encourage accuracy and a good regular tooth brushing stroke too by giving visual warnings if they miss an area or brush too fast or slow.

How Does Playbrush Encourage Kids Toothbrushing?
Incentivise Brushing For The Correct Length Of Time
My 10 year old and I have given the Playbrush and all its games a thorough testing and I definitely think it’s a fun way to encourage kids toothbrushing. It’s made it easy for my son to brush for the recommended two minutes twice a day and having a game to play kept him on target and engaged for the full length of time.
Motivate Accurate Tooth Brushing All Around The Mouth
In the past I’ve tried to encourage kids toothbrushing with egg timers and stop watches and although they’ve helped keep the children brushing for a good period of time they’ve done nothing to encourage accurate toothbrushing in the way that the Playbrush games have.
Because the bluetooth Playbrush cleverly measures where the children are brushing and corresponds this to action on the screen, kids can easily see where they have brushed enough and which areas need more work. This has been brilliant for my son who had a tendency to just brush mainly on one side.
Encourage Kids Regular Toothbrushing
I’ve found the games a really fun way to incentivise my son to brush all around his mouth for the correct amount of time and to want to do it twice a day, day after day. He’s enjoyed seeing his progress and trying to beat his score every day.
Playbrush can be enjoyed across the age ranges. It’s designed for kids from 3 years upwards and my son, aged ten, has liked it but is probably at the maximum age to enjoy the games on offer. Having said that I’ve had fun using it too and I set up a character on the games for myself so that I could could compete against my son for the best score. This has been a BIG hit, and he LOVES to beat me of course! Playbrush has helped make our toothbrushing a family fun activity!
